The Belgian Xandro Meurisse has taken the first stage of the Tour of Murcia. A race that started in Los Alcázares with a 24.7 km climb to Cabezo de la Plata and that has passed through Cieza, where Antonio Jesús from Murcia has been champion of the flying goal in honor of Mariano Rojas.
Canadian Adam de Vos entered second and Josef Cerny third. Alejandro Valverde and Luis León Sánchez, meanwhile, have reached the finish line of Caravaca de La Cruz with the peloton, which has been more than 15 minutes behind the race leader.
Tomorrow at 12:00 the second stage will start in Santomera so that it ends on the Gran Vía in the city of Murcia. The tour will consist of a flying goal next to the Bernal Theater, up to the Cola del Caballo and in Espuña. But, without a doubt, the great attraction will be in the ascent of the Collado Bermejo. The last kilometer before reaching Gran Vía will have its entrance on Avenida Floridablanca.
