Colorful, colorful, X-Mass-Run: For the five-kilometer run in and around Hamburg’s Millerntor Stadium on the first Advent Sunday, many of the approximately 2,700 participants had thrown themselves into costumes. If the Santa Clauses dressed in red dominated the scene, there were also many imaginative disguises to be admired on the circuit, which crossed the arena twice. One participant dressed as a large cookie, one participant as a set table. They were joined by a Christmas couple with a surfboard air mattress. Two pairs of friends stood around like an Advent calendar with a wreath. Petra Vollbrecht from MTV Müden/Örtze came up with the idea. She said at the end: “It was great, it was a lot of fun.”

The fastest rider was Dennis Mehlfeld (Lübecker SC), who won in 17:13 minutes and relegated Markus Geiger (Bremen/17:37) and Fabio Stehn (Rellingen/17:43) to second and third. Ricarda Gerlach (Hamburg/19:48) won the women’s race ahead of Lara Voss (Hamburg/20:03) and Lucca Maria Fischer (Hamburg Running/20:49).
