“X” Introduces New Subscription Plans: Basic, Standard, Plus, and Premium

We already wrote about the fact that “X” is testing new subscription plans. It was rumored that the company might split the Premium paid plan into three different tiers – Basic, Standard and Plus – with the main difference being the amount of ads. At the end of last week, Elon Musk introduced a little more clarity and announced that “X” will soon start offering two new premium subscriptions.

Musk revealed that one of the subscriptions will cost less than the current “Premium” plan, which is priced at $8. By choosing it, the amount of ads will not change – users will see half of the ads, just like the current “Premium” plan. The second subscription, on the other hand, will be more expensive, but will not include ads. The owner of “X” did not reveal exactly how much these two new subscription plans will cost.

Advertising

It should be noted that in early October, Reuters reported that since Musk bought X last October, the company’s ad revenue has been steadily declining. Therefore, Musk’s efforts to somehow collect additional revenue are quite logical. At the same time, X CEO Linda Jacarino recently indicated that advertisers are starting to return to the company and the revenue situation is starting to look better. She also revealed that “X” has 245 million active users and around 500 million posts are posted on the platform every day.
