X Factor Drama: Morgan’s Explosive Feud with Fellow Judges and Emotional Revelation

The singer-songwriter took it out on Fedez (“you’re too depressed”) and Dargen (“bent on show business”), silenced Michielin on the Graziani issue, and made Ambra blurt out due to the constant interruptions. And she spoke of plots against him

It was a hot episode that aired last night on The X Factor. The star of the evening, as you can imagine, was Morgan who, right from the start, showed himself ready to attack all his colleagues.

The first on the list was Dargen D’amico who brought back an old diatribe about Beautiful of Annalisa (who was a guest of the evening but who is graced by interacting with the ex Bluvertigo), accusing Morgan of talking behind his back. “I would like our relationship to be sincere out there and sincere here, not that in the dressing room you say one thing about me and here you say another, and you tell me that I have given in to show business.” The prompt response: «I don’t know what you’re raving about because I have to say that you’re saying things that people don’t know, you’re probably referring to what I told you, that is, that you sold yourself to the music business which is honestly what what I think, so I’m telling you here in front of the cameras just as I told you before outside, and it’s a discussion between you and me.”

The exchange between the two continued even with the microphones turned off during the performance of one of the competitors, Maria Tomba. When the turn came to comment on her performance, Fedez – who is the judge of La Tomba – caught his two colleagues out, accusing them of not having followed the young singer’s performance.

For the entire first part of the episode, Morgan and Dargen continued to monopolize the microphone during the comments on the performances, being scolded several times by Ambra, the most polite in the room but visually the most annoyed, and Fedez: «Guys, I don’t know if you they taught the format, Dargen has been doing it for two years, you take turns and then you answer. If you want to have a debate between the two of you, I’ll leave it to you… first you didn’t listen to the piece, now just the two of you are concentrating, if you want to make us talk too.” Ambra herself found herself having a heated discussion with Morgan during a long backstage session, commenting: “All of this is ridiculous.”

In a climate that was anything but relaxed (Ambra herself will talk about the childish behavior of the judges), on the last performance, that of Il Solito Dandy, Morgan burst out against the production. If at the beginning of the evening he had accused the production of not having allowed him to choose the songs for his boys during “the carousel” (a super-fast elimination round), this time Morgan speaks of “inequity” of treatment in the staging. For the performance of the Usual Dandy, in fact, some cartoons of the same singer with a bodybuilder’s physique had been prepared to play with It takes a beastly physique, the song by Luca Carboni chosen by Dargen for his competitor. “Why do they give you these things if you ask for them, and if I do it I’m told no?” Morgan blurted out, «He has to get to the end, The Usual Dandy can’t get out, it’s impossible, because they make him stay inside with all the stratagems in the world. I don’t dispute him, but the unfairness of the performances.”

Hence the ruckus. Morgan began a long rant on the topic, continuing to interrupt the other judges, in particular Ambra, who was now sadly resigned. So Francesca Michielin tried to come to his aid but the singer-songwriter silenced her with a phrase that in an instant became a coincidence: «Okay, okay… Ivan Graziani is waiting for you over there», in reference to the gaffe of the previous week of Michielin in which, interviewing the guests Dimartino and Colapesce, he had shown that he did not know that Ivan Graziani was dead. Ironically, a week after the gaffe went viral, Ambra chose the song for her competitor Matteo Alieno The guitarist by Ivan Graziani. «Ten years of X Factor and right now they choose a song by her», commented Michielin, then making a sort of mea culta. After Morgan’s sentence, Michielin remained petrified, choosing not to respond to the provocation and accepting Fedez’s solidarity during the subsequent commercial break.

In a sort of adrenaline rush of controversy, however, Morgan wanted to end the evening by also attacking Fedez: «Fedez, are you acting as a psychologist for me?». “I wouldn’t be able to”, the rapper’s response to which Castoldi replies, to the general dismay: “You’re too depressed to be a psychologist”. Luckily for everyone, however, Fedez took a step back and avoided a clash that had become needlessly and humanly despicable.

Social media did not forgive Morgan’s gratuitous attack on Fedez’s declared pathology and therefore the singer-songwriter tried to explain himself with a nocturnal video posted on his social networks. Morgan spoke of sarcasm, explaining: “I did it ironically, I have a long history of personal and family depression, I didn’t want to hit the patient.” Then the monologue became very personal, so much so that Morgan spoke about his father’s suicide due to a depressive crisis. «I am the first to experience depression and I know that it is a suffering condition. It is a condition of every artist or creative person. Our society is depressed and produces depressed men and women.” Quoting the French philosopher Michel Foucault, he added: “The disease of modern society is depression.” And finally he concluded: “You must not exploit me.”
