‘X-Cape’ adventures: haven’t the Chinese ruined the Italian ‘Moto Morini’ brand?

A mid-sized on-road and light off-road bike that competes in the adventure bike class with the likes of Tenere 700 (Yamaha), Tiger 660 Sport (Triumph), Tuareg 660 (Aprilia) ) and others – “Moto Morini” model “X-Cape” enters the market with a lower price.

“Moto Morini” is an Italian motorcycle brand with roots in Bologna, which, with a break of a few years and with varying intensity, has been operating until this white day. In 2018, the company was acquired by the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer “Zhongneng Vehicle Group”, which declared the goal of diversifying the range of bikes in the “Moto Morini” brand, which historically worked more with sports motorcycles, and to increase its presence in the market. “X-Cape” is one of the fruits of the new effort. China and its politics is not the subject of this article, so further only about the main character of the review – the red and white motorcycle.

Moto Morini motorcycles are designed and developed in Italy, but manufactured in China. Since almost everything is made in China these days due to low costs, this fact in itself should not be a cause for concern. And the motorcycle itself also left a very good impression in real life – nowhere did I feel the cheapness of China, which is more or less noticeable usually on Chinese and Indian bikes. In addition, the design turned out to be really successful and modern.
