WWE WrestleMania Backlash: Reigns Dominates, Edge Surprises

WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022

At the WWE Premium Live event in May, the “Tribal Chief” continued his dominance. Charlotte Flair lost her title. And a third person joined Edge’s “Judgment Day” faction. The results of “WrestleMania Backlash” in the overview.

The Bloodline remains the dominant faction in WWE!

Roman Reigns competed alongside Jimmy and Jey Uso in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash (May 8, 2022 in Providence, Rhode Island).

There was plenty of action in the 6-man tag team main event against Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton and Riddle.

Fans called for Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre to meet and at least got a sneak peek of a singles match to come.

Reigns, however, was able to get McIntyre out of the ring through the commentary table after being distracted by Jimmy Uso.

Reigns then tagged into the match just as Riddle RKO’d Jey Uso off the ropes. The “Tribal Chief” followed in the ring, speared through Riddle and sealed the win for the Bloodline.

After this result, the question now arises whether any of the three rivals in this match deserved a singles match against Reigns for their two world titles.

RONDA ROUSEY WIRD SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPION

There was only one title match on the card, which only consisted of six matches. This was won by Ronda Rousey under I Quit rules against Charlotte Flair.

The fans were treated to a wild brawl that raged across the arena.

Ronda survived a figure 8 leglock by hitting Flair with an in-ring chair. Charlotte sarcastically wished Rousey a Happy Mother’s Day and wanted to use the chair herself. However, that was Flair’s undoing: Ronda reported back and put her armbar through the backrest of the unfolded chair.

Charlotte reluctantly shouted “I Quit!” – and Ronda became the SmackDown Women’s Champion for the first time.

According to the storyline, Flair suffered a broken arm in the final action.

RHEA RIPLEY UNTERSTÜTZT „JUDGMENT DAY“

According to the agreement, Damian Priest was not allowed to interfere in the match between AJ Styles and Edge.

But when Styles started the Phenomenal Forearm, Priest appeared in the entryway. He was followed by Finn Bálor, who took care of Edge’s pupil in the new faction “Judgment Day”.

Suddenly, however, another person (her face was covered by a hood) was there.

This unknown person caused Styles to fall off the ring ropes. Edge now put on the crossface. The referee declared Edge the winner when AJ went into submission hold without fighting.

Then the unknown person got on his knees in front of Edge and then revealed: Rhea Ripley is the third member of “Judgment Day”!

BEATEN SETH ROLLINS WITH OWN GUN

Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes followed up their WrestleMania clash with another must-see duel in the broadcast’s opening match. This time, Rollins seemed prepared. Still, he failed to secure a win against Cody, even using his most dangerous moves.

Ultimately, he wanted to surprise Cody with a roll-in. Rollins pulled on Cody’s pants. Rhodes, however, turned the cover around and now brought the roll-in himself against Rollins. The “American Nightmare” also pulled on his opponent’s pants. And with the added leverage, Cody got the not-quite-perfect win!

THE FURTHER RESULTS AT WRESTLEMANIA BACKLASH

Bobby Lashley held his own against Omos. But as the All-Mighty fell into the corner of the ring and the official turned his attention to the Nigerian giant, MVP smacked Lashley square in the face with his cane. Bobby then got into the tree slam of the giant. Omos took the win – making up for his WrestleMania loss to Lashley.

Madcap Moss struggled with his former boyfriend Happy Corbin’s greater wrestling experience. Ultimately, however, Madcap surprised with a sunset flip roll-in that earned him the win over Corbin.

The next WWE Premium Live Event is called “Hell in a Cell” and will run again on Whitsunday, June 5 (at 2 a.m. on the night of Monday, June 6) on the WWE Network.
