Big Cass was released from Vince McMahon’s company and became W. Morrissey on the indies and Impact Wrestling. He made his debut on AEW Dynamite this week and, despite his loss, WWE is said to have been very impressed with W. Morrisey’s appearance.
Morrisey currently wrestles primarily on Impact and was featured as MJF’s surprise opponent for Wardlow. He did a good job and impressed a lot of people he was watching.
According to Andrew Zarian in the latest episode of the Mat Men Professional Wrestling podcast, he heard from several people who work for WWE that they were very happy with what they saw of the former Big Cass.
“I got a couple of messages about him from people. People who want to know when their contract ends.
“I’m not going to say that WWE will accept him, but I can tell you that WWE is definitely impressed with him. There’s no way around it, man. I got a text last night while he was out and someone wrote, ‘did you see this guy F’N?’”
The 35-year-old wrestler was released by WWE in 2018 after struggling with substance abuse issues, but has done an incredible job of overcoming his demons. He has done a tremendous job on Impact since his arrival last year and it seems to be paying off.
