WWE Superstar plays villain in cinema | Sport

Now he’s making it big in Hollywood!

Wrestling superstar Drew McIntyre (39) is currently in an absolute hate feud with CM Punk in the WWE. The third duel will see the final decision between the two in the Hell-in-a-Cell match at the Premium Live Event (PLE) “Bad Blood” on October 5th in Atlanta!

Now he’s hitting the cinema too!

The Scot is not only one of the main actors in the Monday show “RAW” in the WWEwhich BILD broadcasts live, but now also an actor on the big screen! McIntrye is starring in the new Hollywood film “The Killer’s Game” with Dave Bautista, the WWE legend Batista.

What’s it about? Professional killer Joe Flood (Bautista) falls in love with Maize (played by Sofia Boutella, who just caused a stir in the Netflix hit “Rebel Moon” – not only with her fighting skills but also with a nude scene). Because Bautista thinks he has to die because of an illness and he wants to have an honorable killer’s death, he asks fellow killers (including Ben Kingsley and Terry Crews) to kill him. When it turns out that he is healthy, the mob is on his tail. One of the killers is played by Drew McIntyre! In the film his name is Rory Mackenzie!

Bautista explains the election to the WWE-Superstar so: “I was having a conversation with JJ Perry (the director, ed.) and he said, ‘I need a big guy who almost intimidates you. A guy who kind of dwarfs you and is bigger than you, but he also has to be able to do a Scottish accent.’ And he said, ‘Do you know anyone?’ I thought, ‘Man, I have the perfect guy.'”

The film was released in the US on September 13th. A German release date has not yet been set.

McIntyre in an interview with PWInsider.com about his first day on the film set: “I flew to Budapest and realized: Oh wow, this is a little bit outside of my comfort zone. But I’m going to go in like a sponge. I’m going to listen to those who know better than me and trust that my WWE training and all the years in front of the camera will help me in this environment.”

And further: “When I walked onto the set, I was still nervous. It wasn’t until Dave himself came up to me and asked me, ‘Are you nervous?’ that I said, ‘Yeah, I’m very nervous, Dave.’ He said, ‘Well, I’m nervous too.’ How can you be nervous after all this time and all these roles you’ve played, all these big movies you’ve been in? That helped me relax. And actually, as soon as I finally got in front of the camera, no matter how many people were around me or how big it felt, as soon as the red light came on, I immediately relaxed and had a lot of fun.”
