WWE SmackDown December 11 Recap
WWE SmackDown St. Petersburg, ThunderDome
Commentators are Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
– Tonight is WWE SmackDown, the blue show kicks off with the commentators welcoming us, then Sasha Banks arrives in the ring for her contract signing with Carmella. She sits at the table in the ring, Adam Pearce is at the end of the table explaining to her why she is there. Pearce was going to introduce Carmella, but Banks opens the contract and there is no sheet. She starts to get angry, then Carmella appears on the giant screen. The wrestler says she makes the rules and Banks follows them. She will sign it and her partner will bring her the contract.
Carmella is proud of who she is, she won’t be in the ring because Banks has already tried to hurt her. Banks says she’s going to play with Carmella for a bit on TLC. Carmella’s partner arrives in the ring with the contract. Carmella tells Adam Pearce to control Banks and make sure she isn’t jealous of her. Banks knows that when she signs this contract, her days as the SmackDown champion will be numbered. Banks signs the contract then tells her to come to the ring if she wants the title. Carmella is starting, then Adam Pearce formalizes the meeting for the women’s title of SmackDown for tonight.
Sasha Banks says she’s going to give him a taste of what to expect from TLC, before attacking Carmella’s partner.
Singles Match
Ride Ford (accompanied by Angelo Dawkins) vs Dolph Ziggler (accompanied by Robert Roode)
At the end of the match, Robert Roode distracted Montez Ford by attacking Angelo Dawkins, Dolph Ziggler took the opportunity to knock Ford off the third string and give him a Superkick for the pinfall victory.
Gagnant : Dolph Ziggler
– Behind the scenes, Sami Zayn gets annoyed with the goods because he does not have t-shirts with his name. Big E joins him and Zayn is not happy that he is entitled to a new t-shirt. Apollo Crews, Kalisto, and Tamina show off a handmade one for Sami Zayn, who takes it and wants to tear it up but can’t seem to.
– Sami Zayn is in the ring. He goes back to the names he beat as Intercontinental Champion and he is still not entitled to any respect. Why doesn’t he have t-shirts? They’ve spent the whole week honoring Pat Patterson, the first Intercontinental Champion, and they are treating the current champion like that? He is cut off by the music of Big E arriving in the ring for the match.
Singles Match
Sami Zayn vs Big E
At the end of the match, Big E runs after Sami Zayn who ends up going under the ring. Big E joins him and Zayn tries to get out, but Big E grabs his legs. Zayn finally gets into the ring, while the referee is on his count of 10.
Winner: Sami Zayn – Via scoring away
– Behind the scenes, Bayley wishes only Carmella good. Sasha Banks is certainly still champions but it is Bayley who leads this division. Banks is the most overpaid and overpriced Superstar in WWE history, well … if you don’t count Bianca Belair. The latter is behind her back then stops her to introduce herself and list her what she has been doing lately.
– Behind the scenes, Kayla Braxton is with Carmella. The latter says that Sasha Banks is the Boss, but she, she is untouchable. She is going to beat her up and she will look sexy doing it. She wants champagne in ringside for her victory.
– A video on the story with Roman Reigns is released. Behind the scenes, Jey Uso joins Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, then asks his cousin if he’s okay. Reigns says he’s fine. Uso asks her how the family is doing, then Reigns replies that she is fine because Uso is with him. Kevin Owens enters the ring and sets up a ring table, complete with chairs and a ladder.
Kevin Owens says he knows Roman Reigns is watching and he wants Reigns to listen carefully. Reigns wants him to be afraid of him, but he has bad news. After what happened last week, he’s not afraid of him. Reigns says he’s fighting for his family and Owens can relate to that. No matter how good Roman Reigns is and what he says, his family is fighting for him. He uses his family to fight for him. TLC is the most important game of Owens’ career and he knows that today’s Roman Reigns can possibly beat anyone in WWE. We know he will need all the help he can get, his family is not part of this business. His family support him by watching him at home. Although they can’t help him physically, he has friends with him.
He has chairs, they are ruthless. They can help him break 1 or 2 bones. It will be difficult for him to sit at the end of the table afterwards. It also has a table, which is hard and complicated to break. It also has a ladder. He’s the toughest friend you can ever deal with. Owens climbs the ladder. Jey Uso attacks Kevin Owens then places him on the table. Uso goes up in the corner but Owens gets off the table and attacks him, before pushing him through the table with a Powerbomb. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman arrive on the scene. Reigns wants to go, but Heyman tries to hold him back, while Owens tells him to come. Reigns ultimately decides not to go, then goes backstage. Owens takes a chair and goes backstage.
– Behind the scenes, Kevin Owens is walking and he is stopped by Kayla Braxton, but Roman Reigns hits him with the chair in the back and then hits him several times. Oh by the way, they never showed up … He’s Roman Reigns, the one at the end of the table and the tribal leader.
Tag Team Match
Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan) vs Billie Kay et Natalya
At the end of the match, Liv Morgan makes a Facebuster followed by a Riott Kick by Ruby Riott on Billie Kay, who continues with the pinfall for the victory.
Gagnantes : Riott Squad
– After the game, Natalya and Billie Kay argue.
– Chad Gable coaches Otis successfully.
– Behind the scenes, Gable tells Kayla Braxton that Otis gets up after being knocked down. He will become David (sculpture by Michelangelo).
Tag Team Match
Chad Gable et Otis vs Cesaro et Shinsuke Nakamura
At the end of the match, Shinsuke Nakamura does his Kinshasa on Chad Gable, followed by the pin for the victory.
Gagnants: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura
– Behind the scenes, Chad Gable tells Otis it was a lesson. It was a test tonight, Otis failed. He shows him what to do by doing what he should not do.
– Behind the scenes, King Corbin is with Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler. Last week was perfect, he couldn’t have asked them to do a better job. These boys are the knights of the lone wolf, no family like the Mysterios will be able to stand in their way. If they do, the consequences will be more serious than losing an eye.
– Next week, the Street Profits will defend the SmackDown tag team titles against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, then Bianca Belair will face Bayley.
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Singles Match
Sasha Banks (c) vs Carmella
At the end of the match, Sasha Banks hits Carmella in the corner and the referee counts to 5 to disqualify her.
Winner: Carmella – Via disqualification (Sasha Banks still champion)
– After the match, Sasha Banks attacks Carmella’s partner and gives him his Bank Statement. Carmella does a Superkick on Sasha Banks, followed by a second kick. Banks leaves the ring, but Carmella puts his head in an ice bucket, before exploding a bottle against his body. The show ends with Carmella celebrating with champagne.
