Monday Night Raw opens with a plaque in tribute to Jon Huber, known in WWE as Luke Harper, recently deceased.
Drew McIntyre steps out into the ring. “It’s Monday. You know what it means”, he says first, remembering the phrase Huber used to use. Drew starts talking about his starting defense next week on the legends special, but when he names Sheamus, he is cut off.
Sheamus He arrives and apologizes, but Drew says there are no problems. Sheamus says he kept his word last week. He teamed up with Keith Lee but at the end of the match, he attacked him. They talk about how exciting it would be to face each other for the title, assuring that it will be a tremendously physical fight.
Keith Lee adds to the conversation. He criticizes Sheamus and says his word is worthless, just like Drew McIntyre’s. He has a hard time waiting for the bell to ring to attack Sheamus, Lee says, and warns McIntyre to be careful around his friends, as they may stab him in the back. Sheamus is enraged but Drew calms them down. “Let’s start this fight right now, let a referee come. No matter who wins, the result next week will be the same: Drew McIntyre will remain the champion.” Drew doesn’t finish speaking, and Sheamus delivers his Brogue Kick to Keith. As the referee is arriving, Drew scolds Sheamus and the break begins.
Sheamus vs. Keith Lee
Drew McIntyre joins the commentary table. Keith attacks when the bell rings, cornering Sheamus. Knees to escape Lee and bring him to his knees. Sheamus is still on the offensive but Lee takes him out of the ring. Sheamus reacts, stands in the corner and flies towards Lee at ringside, throwing him on the commentary table. Coming back from commercials, the action continues in the ring. Sheamus connects his blows to Lee’s chest and punishes him with the top rope. He launches from the corner but Keith pushes him in mid-flight with a Pounce. Lee continues to attack but does not get a count of three. Sheamus responds by attacking Keith’s leg. Lee dodges the Brogue Kick and connects Crossbody for the count of two. White Noise and a count of two about Lee. Grizzly Magnum and Spirit Bomb to Sheamus. 1 … 2 … 3!
Winner: Keith Lee.
Keith Lee will face Drew McIntyre next week for the WWE Championship.
Elias plays the guitar, accompanied by Jaxson Ryker. Someone knocks on the door but no one answers.
The Miz (c/ John Morrison) vs. Gran Metalik (c/ Lince Dorado)
Before the match, Lince and Metalik are shown talking about Miz and his failed exchange of the Money in the Bank briefcase. They make fun of Miz complaining asking for it to be returned to him and assure that Metalik will win tonight. In the meeting, Metalik goes out looking for quick covers. He takes Miz out of the ring and kicks him out again when he tries to get back. He walks the top rope and launches into Moonsault to ringside. Upon returning, Miz connects a Big Boot in mid-flight from his rival. Metalik keeps attacking, pushing himself off the ropes to kick Miz. Search the account and manage to beat Miz.
Winner: Gran Metalik.
Elias continues to play the guitar, they hit again and this time Ryker comes out. Omos enters accompanied by AJ Styles, annoyed by Elias’ noise. AJ challenges him for later and says that he might break his fingers so he won’t play again.
