WWE Friday Night SmackDown #1161
Ort: XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, USA
Date: 19. November 2021
Michael Cole welcomes us to the Go Home show ahead of the Survivor Series. At his side is Pat McAfee again. We see a look back at what happened last week around “King” Xavier Woods and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
We switch to the ring where the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, the Usos, are. In the middle of the ring is a throne, there is also a crown, scepter and cloak, which are usually worn by Woods. However, the Usos introduce Roman Reigns, which is slowly coming out with Paul Heyman. In the time it takes Reigns to get to the ring, Cole and McAfee hype the match between Reigns and WWE Champion Big E on Sunday and the match between the Usos and RK-Bro. Now all protagonists have arrived in the ring. Heyman grabs a microphone and is overwhelmed by the situation. No one in the history of WWE deserves to be honored as often and as much as the Tribal Chief. Especially not Woods, who doesn’t deserve a title like “King” at all. Nor does Brock Lesnar have such a title. And also not Big E, which Reigns will take apart on Sunday. He is interrupted by Reigns and wants to know who came up with the idea of the coronation here. Heyman points to the Usos and Reigns asks them if this is a joke. He doesn’t need this, he’d work hard and deserve respect for it. He asks the audience to acknowledge him, which they do more badly than right. But now he is also interrupted by Woods, who would like to have his utensils back in the ring. But even without them he is the real king, because king is who does good for the WWE Universe. If Reigns were a “King”, he would clear the whole opportunity like a man – 1 vs. 1 against each other. Reigns can’t believe Woods doesn’t care about the items in the ring and instructs his cousins to throw them around and destroy them. Woods is of course anything but enthusiastic. Only the crown is now intact and Reigns wants to know one last time whether Woods doesn’t care. Woods runs into the ring but is beaten up by the Usos. While Woods has to watch helplessly, Reigns also kicks the crown.
Next look back at last week: We see Sami Zayn get removed from the SmackDown team for Survivor Series last week.
Backstage is Kayla Braxton with King Xavier Woods, who says he’s made Reigns pay for what he did to him today.

Sheamus won against Cesaro, Ricochet and Jinder Mahal via pin to Cesaro after the brogue kick.
Match time: 11:01

After the match, Holland comes into the ring to celebrate with Sheamus, the ring announcer confirms Sheamus as the final participant for Team SmackDown.
Braxton now has Jeff Hardy ready for the interview. She wants his opinion from Team SmackDown. Hardy is very fond of Drew McIntyre, Woods and Sheamus, but is unsure of “Happy” Baron Corbin. Coincidentally, Corbin and Madcap Moss appear at the moment. Moss shares one of his jokes. Adam Pearce also shows up now and says that he wants to see Team SmackDown win on Sunday. But he doesn’t like the attitude and says that Corbin should behave more like a member of the team. He also wonders if Moss will still laugh after his match against Jeff Hardy today. This announcement makes Hardy laugh out loud.
Megan Morant is backstage and has Ridge Holland and Sheamus with her. Sheamus is delighted to have inspired Holland to become a WWE Superstar. His words in the last few weeks would have moved him to tears. Holland once again praises Sheamus in the highest tones. The two apparently get along very well and want to end the evening in a bar.
A video package hyped the match between RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
Progressive Match Flo: Sonya Deville removed Aliyah from the SmackDown team for Survivor Series last week.
2. Match
Tag Team Match
Natalya & Shayna Baszler won against Aliyah & Naomi via pin from Natalya to Naomi.

– An actually harmless pin attempt by Natalya, but the referee Daphne Lashaunn quickly counted to 3 and then quickly disappeared backstage.
Natalya and Baszler celebrate, Aliyah and Naomi remain very confused.
Jeff Hardy warms up backstage.
A promo by Bruno Sammartino is played. The Survivor Series will probably have special merchandise for the Hall of Famer.
The fast pin from the match is being shown again, while Michael Cole makes fun of Naomi, who has already lost again.
Sami Zayn complains to Sonya Deville about being kicked out of the SmackDown team. But Deville wants to calm him down and promises him a place in the 25-Men Battle Royal, which will take place in honor of the 25th anniversary of The Rocks debut. Should Zayn win that, his name will always be associated with The Rock. Daphne Lashaunn arrives and asks if she performed well in the last match. Deville says she doesn’t mess with dishonest referees and wants Lashaunn to go away.
3. Match
Singles Match
Jeff Hardy (w / Drew McIntyre) won against Madcap Moss (w / “Happy” Baron Corbin) via pinfall after a rollup.
Match time: 01:45
– When Moss came out with Corbin, Hardy thought it was unfair not to have anyone in his corner of the ring. So Drew McIntyre did the honors.
Corbin is furious and wants Hardy to pay for the win, but is intercepted by McIntyre’s Claymore. The Scot ties himself up to Moss again before Hardy shows another Swanton Bomb.
A review of the opening segment is shown. Heyman is backstage telling someone on the phone that Reigns doesn’t like surprises. Braxton arrives and asks him about Woods Challenge. Heyman is annoyed that people think Reigns needs the Usos because he doesn’t need them. He doesn’t need Heyman either, but he just loves him, just like Kayla does. The Woods challenge was definitely accepted.
4. Match
Singles Match
Shinsuke Nakamura (w / Rick Boogs) won against Angel (w / Humberto) via pinfall after the Kinshasa.
Match time: 01:43
After the match, the Japanese takes one more blow from Humberto before he and Angel flee. The four men give each other a final star down.
The events of Shotzi and Sasha Banks are summarized before we see them both clash backstage. They can be separated from Sonya Deville. Nevertheless, the two of them have a few nice things for each other. Deville says that they should clarify their differences in the ring, but then please pull together for SmackDown’s sake.
5. Match
Singles Match
Sasha Banks won against Shotzi via a submission in the Banks Statement.
Match time: 11:09
Sonya Deville is standing on the ramp after the match, which both women in the ring use as an opportunity to shake hands. However, Banks shows the backstabber and seems satisfied. When she arrived at the ramp, she told Deville that she shook hands with Shotzi.
The Bloodline is backstage in their locker room. Heyman says it’s time. Reigns holds the Usos back, saying he’ll do this alone today.
Xia Li Vignette. Coming soon.
Toni Storm is with Kayla Braxton and is congratulated on her final Team SmackDown spot. Storm is delighted. She is also holding a promo against Charlotte Flair, who will be vulnerable after her match against Becky Lynch. Storm wants a chance for the title. Flair joins in and replies that she won’t prove her superiority against Becky Lynch until Sunday before she will beat Storm to the core. So you offer her a match, but not for the title. When Flair is gone, Storm says it went exactly as expected.
Xavier Woods enters the ring for the main event and calls on Reigns to come into the ring. He wants to know if this is a man, because he had proven last week that he could not beat Woods 1vs.1. Enough words for Roman Reigns to get out. When moving in, one of the Usos is thrown from the backstage area onto the stage, the other flies right behind. Woods grins in the ring and suddenly the music of Big E can be heard, immediately a brawl between Reigns and Big E starts on the ramp. Big E and Woods can clearly prevail, the Usos are also eliminated. All three members of the Bloodline collect big endings. The show ends with a damaged bloodline on the ramp while Big E and Xavier Woods celebrate in the ring.
