For the last edition of Friday Night SmackDown before SummerSlam, we are greeted by the new thunder dome, the intro welcomes us with an impressive fireworks display: Welcome to the Thunderdome!

After a short greeting from Michael Cole, Vince McMahon stands in the ring and greets us again in the Thunderdome. He’s about to hype SummerSlam and the weeks ahead when the lights go out and red lasers appear. Let me in. The Fiend is here. When he finally arrived in the ring after a while, he blocked Vince’s way out of the ring and had a great time. But Braun Strowman has seen enough and comes out himself. McMahon disappears as fast as he can, and the viewers’ webcams come back up. Strowman and The Fiend face each other when a dozen or so members of the group “Retribution” attempt to enter the ring. The Fiend and Strowman nod, The Fiend waves briefly and the light goes out. When it comes back on, Strowman is alone in the ring and is attacked by the group. The locker room, led by Big E, tries the Save, but needs more reinforcement. With numerical superiority, it finally succeeds in throwing retribution out of the ring. When the situation is cleared up, The Miz joins them. A frustrated strowman takes on Gulak and Jey Uso and is able to knock one down and kick the other out of the ring before tearing his shirt and disappearing backstage.

Back from the commercials, we see Sheamus and Big E having problems with each other. A look back at last week is shown before the match between the two starts:

– some wrestlers were still standing at the ring and kept watch in fear of retribution. “King” Corbin tried to give instructions to the others. He clashed with Riddle, which distracted Sheamus, who was about to kick the brogue, so that he could be curled up.
– after about four minutes the lights flickered again.

A preview of the rest of the evening is to be shown, but there are new incidents. It is switched to the back, where we see a leg injured and battered Jeff Hardy, who is supposed to play against AJ Styles today. He was probably hit in the knee by one of the members of Retribution.

Lucha House Party want to come to the ring, but are attacked from behind by Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. The Tag Team Match starts next!

Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro won against Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado w / Kalisto) via a pin from Cesaro to Dorado after a roll-through.

– The Miz & John Morrison stand backstage and watch the match, making fun of both teams. “Miz and Morrison, hey hey, ho ho!”

After the match, Kalisto and Dorado clash, Metalik tries to mediate, but it works out badly.

Jeff Hardy continues to receive treatment on his right knee. In a replay it is shown that AJ Styles used the chaos at the ring to attack Hardy from behind and injure him in the knee. In an interview with Kayla Braxton he seems to be very proud of his deeds and regrets Hardy’s “wasted career”. He then meets Bayley and Sasha Banks, the three of whom celebrate their respective titles, before the two women head for the ring.

Mandy Rose is at Braxton’s for an interview. She says she had a busy week. She wants to speak to Sonya Deville directly because she doesn’t know what’s going on with her. She wants Sonya again, with whom she had experienced so many beautiful things over the past few years, and appeals that the good is still in Deville. After the hair vs. Hair-Match would like to leave everything behind.

Corey Graves is in the ring to interview Bayley and Sasha Banks. He is skeptical about the chances of the two women and asks what they think of Asuka. But the two are sure of victory, only they could (each) carry two titles at once. Graves points out that it is not particularly logical that Bayley will play the first match at SummerSlam against the Japanese. Bayley is still not enthusiastic about it, the two almost fall into each other. Naomi arrives and challenges both women to a match, which they accept with amusement. Graves suggests a stipulation that the matches will become a “beat the clock” challenge. The loser has to face Asuka first on Sunday.

Bayley attacks Naomi right after she quits. The referee looks briefly that Naomi can stand, then it starts, the clock runs backwards this time:

So Bayley has to play the first match against Asuka. Sasha Banks can’t help but grin. A manically laughing Asuka joins them and shouts into the microphone in Japanese before saying in English that she will be the Empress of every title because nobody is ready for Asuka. She then gives both women a rub before dancing in the ring.

Jeff Hardy has a brace on his knee and tries to put weight on it. The doctor says that as long as Hardy can endure the pain, he has the ring release. Hardy thanks and promises to become Intercontinental Champion today.

Sonya Deville is questioned about Mandy’s statement. Sonya doesn’t want to say anything. Dana Brooke arrives and says she is sorry for Sony after everything she has been through this week. Deville slaps her across the face and insults her as disrespectful before advertising again.

After the advertisement, Deville stands on the ramp with a microphone. You understand Mandy Rose. She would regret her challenge. But she asks what Mandy Rose would like, because they will definitely meet at SummerSlam. And Deville wants to change the importance of the match again and get out of the hair vs. Make Hair Match a Loser Leaves WWE Match. Because with or without hair, she was sick of seeing Mandy’s face. She uses the word “bitch”.

A review of the storyline about The Fiend, Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss is shown. Afterwards, Nikki Cross talks about how Alexa is different at the moment, she is no longer the benign person, and that scares her. They are afraid that something terrible will happen. There will be another edition of the Firefly Fun House later.

Jeff Hardy won against AJ Styles via pin after the Swanton Bomb -> Title change !!!
Match time: 11:05

– During Styles’ move in, a video is played of Daniel Bryan calling Styles a coward once more and hoping that by the end of the show, SmackDown will have the champion it deserves.
– During the match, Styles continued to abuse the broken knee, in the end it was the knee support that hit Styles on the head and initiated the end.

Jeff Hardy says after the match that he was down a year ago and that he is now so much in control of his life that he is even Intercontinental Champion. He wants to keep talking, but his music starts all at once and probably ends his promo somewhat involuntarily.

After the advertisement, AJ Styles is terribly upset that Hardy was allowed to bring a weapon like the knee brace into the ring.

Talking Smack is back! Tomorrow the comeback will be on the WWE Network.

It’s time for the Firefly Fun House. Wyatt speaks of a great evening. He speaks of too much love destroying more than doing good. And as an example he presents us: Strowman and Alexa, portrayed by Huskus and Rabbit. The two do not play to Wyatt’s satisfaction, so he takes over again. Love can only destroy, so everyone should become like The Fiend. Wyatt inhales and smells something. With a smile he says “what stopped you” when Braun Strowman comes into the picture and beats Wyatt. He then drags it out of the picture before it goes into the last commercial.

After the advertisement there is supposed to be a big fight between Strowman and Wyatt, and finally we get the pictures too. In the Thunderdome garage, the two don’t give each other anything for free. Strowman can get the upper hand in the end. An unconscious Wyatt is taken away by ambulance. But this stops after a few meters and drives back in reverse, much to the displeasure of the helpers and WWE employees. The windows turn red and everyone backs away from the car. The Fiend gets out of the ambulance, from which red light and fog shine. He laughs and sticks out his tongue. This ends the last SmackDown issue before SummerSlam.
