During broadcasts of Monday Night RAW via USA Network, it has been confirmed that Drew McIntyre to face Sheamus at WWE Fastlane 2021, the company’s next pay-per-view.
The two men of European descent have had several weeks of tension since “The Celtic Guardian” attacked Drew McIntyre treacherously the night after Royal Rumble 2021. The Scotsman received a Rogue Kick from Sheamus in the center of the ring on the night of the 1 February. The latter had stated backstage that he didn’t care about his years of friendship with McIntyreRather, he wanted a shot at the title that he carried with him back then.
The two fighters have already crossed paths twice. First of all we saw Drew McIntyre emerging victorious against “The Celtic Warrior” in a match that opened the March 1 episode of Monday Night RAW. The following week at the red show, the two men would have a rematch without disqualification that ended without result after both were knocked unconscious by colliding with each other with metal steps. It is likely that this new confrontation between the two wrestlers has implications in the fight for the WWE Championship between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 37.
WWE Fastlane 2021 will take place next Sunday, March 21 from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Fans will be able to observe this event via pay-per-view and through WWE Network and Peacock in the United States, as well as in the virtual audience “ThunderDome” mode.
