Apple has relied heavily on the Messages iconography for its WWDC artwork this year. Blue iMessage bubbles appear frequently in WWDC advertisements, as well as a throwback to the “Laser Sent” animated message effect.
Although one should never read too closely Apple’s promotional images, the recurring use of iMessages assets aligns with the expectations of the rumor mill.
Until now, Apple has changed the hashflag from thumb up to exclamation point. It is likely to switch back to the heart reaction, as Apple has already been showing the heart throwback in other WWDC promotional materials.
On Friday, Joanna Stern in the Wall Street Journal said big updates to Safari, Health, Maps and iMessage are coming as part of iOS 15.
