A fundraiser brought in a huge amount within hours. The Styrian himself is speechless and speaks of an “Advent miracle”.
It’s an incredible story. Christian Bachler threatens to lose his court on the Kraków plain. Over the years, the miner accumulated debts of 400,000 euros. Now his bank in Murau is making the loans due. If he cannot pay, his farm will be auctioned, according to the bank’s plan.
Of all people, “Falter” editor-in-chief Florian Klenk became aware of his fate. The journalist, who was heavily criticized by Bachler, the “anger farmer”, in a video last year for his comment on the cow judgment, finally initiated a fundraising campaign for the farmer. VolksRock’n’Roller Andreas Gabalier also drew attention to his fate in a Facebook live video.
And so it shouldn’t take long for the calls to take effect. The 38-year-old would have needed 150,000 euros, and he wanted to do the rest himself. On Sunday, however, this mark was cracked at 3 p.m. And although the goal was achieved, donations continued to be plentiful. At around 5.30 p.m., the 200,000 euro mark had already been exceeded.
Bachler himself can hardly believe it and speaks of an “Advent miracle”. “Dear people, the farmer simply has no words. Just THANK YOU,” he wrote on Facebook.
