Würzburg: Parking in the city center is becoming more expensive

Parking in the city center of Würzburg will be more expensive from June 1st. Then new tariffs and parking zones will be introduced. The city council decided on Thursday – the decision is part of the mobility concept “Better living in Bischofshut”.

Essentially, the more central a parking space, the more expensive it will be in the future. In the core area, it then costs 1.20 euros for each started half hour. For comparison: So far, it costs 90 cents per half hour.

At the same time, street parking spaces are then more expensive than those in multi-storey car parks. The ultimate goal is to reduce traffic looking for a parking space in the city center. For this reason, some parking spaces close to the city center are being converted either into resident parking spaces or into paid parking spaces.

These are the new parking zones:

Parkzone I „Bischofshut“

EUR 1.20 per half hour or part thereof. Juliuspromenade, Theaterstrasse and Balthasar-Neumann-Promenade, Neubaustrasse, Oberer Mainkai and Mainkai.

Parkzone II “Ringpark”

1 euro per half hour or part thereof. Luitpoldstraße, Röntgenring, station forecourt, Haugerglacisstraße, Berliner Platz and Ringpark between Berliner Platz and Ottostraße, Ringpark between Ottostraße and Willy-Brandt-Kai, parking lot Willy-Brandt-Kai and Ludwigsbrücke, Mergentheimer Straße, Fred-Joseph-Platz, Burkarderstraße, Tellsteige and niggl way

Parking zone III “outside Ringpark”

EUR 0.50 per half hour or part thereof. Stand bühlstrasse, Nordtangente, Füchsleinstrasse, Lindleinstrasse, Scharoldstrasse including Enzelinstrasse and Georg-Böhm-Strasse, Oberdürrbacher Strasse, Zinklesweg, Lindachfeldweg and Sandweg, Versbacher Strasse, Waltherstrasse (B19), Main and railway line Würzburg-Treuchtlingen, Theodor-Heuss-Damm, Main and Veitshöchheimer Strasse between the Bridge of German Unity and Standerbühlstrasse.

Parking zone IV “bus parking”

1.25 euros per half hour or part thereof. Southeast side of Husarenstraße and the west side of Philipp-Schrepfer-Allee (only the designated bus parking spaces).

Parking zone V “special areas”

EUR 0.30 per half hour or part thereof. Parking at the intersection of Frankfurter-/Zeller-/Höchberger Straße.

Parking Zone VI “Perimeter”

EUR 0.50 per half hour or part thereof. Includes the remaining areas.
