Würzburg: Corona incidences continue to fall

The corona numbers in the Würzburg area continue to fall. On Wednesday, the incidence in the city was 209.5 in the district at 236 – the values are roughly back to the level at the turn of the year.

Within a week, a good 600 people in the Würzburg area were infected with Corona. For comparison: a month ago it was 3,000 a week.

Furthermore, it is mainly the residents of the district who become infected – here there were 350. Most new infections can be traced back to Höchberg. 40 people were infected here.

In the urban area, the districts of Heidingsfeld, Steinbachtal, and Zellerau are front runners. There are 44 new cases here.

View to Main-Spessart and Kitzingen

In the rest of Mainfranken, too, the incidences continue to fall. In the district of Main-Spessart the value is 181. It is even lower in the district of Kitzingen. Here the seven-day incidence is 142.9.

Lower demand for corona tests

Due to the abolition of the test obligation, far fewer tests are carried out, so the incidence value is no longer the decisive criterion, according to the health department. The hospitalization rate is much more important because it shows the burden on hospitals with Covid patients.
