Württemberg | Echterdingen: Wasp attack on children – 15 injured

14 injured primary school students and one injured teacher: This is the result of a wasp attack on a primary school class in Baden-Württemberg.

Wasps have attacked a primary school class. 14 children and a teacher were injured in Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg. According to the primary school concerned, the injuries were mainly caused by wasp stings, reports “Bild”.

The children and the teacher were on their way to the indoor swimming pool when they were suddenly attacked by a swarm of wasps. All of the children were stung, some of them multiple times. In addition, some of the students were still in a state of panic after the attack. According to the emergency doctor, however, the incident ended well and no child showed an allergic reaction.

However, this was not the first incident, reports Chief Inspector Gerhard Jaudas to “Bild”: “In the days before, several guests of the sports hall were said to have been stung at this location. The nest was apparently located near the entrance under the wooden paneling of the hall’s facade.” Now, however, the wasp colony has already been relocated.
