Wuling Alvez officially launched in Indonesia as the younger brother of Wuling Almaz. Just like the previous Wuling Motors strategy, Alvez is also sold at a much lower price than its competitors. Wuling Alvez will compete with the Honda HR-V, but what’s interesting is that Alvez’s price is on par with the Honda Brio RS hatchback.
Launched at the 2023 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) arena, Alvez is marketed at a price below IDR 300 million. The details are Alvez SE M/T IDR 209,000,000, and Alvez CE CVT IDR 255,000,000, finally Alvez EX CVT IDR 295,000,000.
This price is much cheaper than the Honda HR-V which has already touched the official price tag of between Rp. 300-500 million. The price for the HR-V S CVT is IDR 375,900,000, HR-V E CVT IDR 395,900,000, HR-V SE CVT IDR 416,100,000, and the most expensive HR-V Turbo RS IDR 529,900,000.
When compared, the cheapest Alvez model with HR-V has a price difference of around IDR 166,900,000. Then the most expensive Alvez model with HR-V, the difference reaches IDR 234,900,000. The price difference is, of course, huge.
Interestingly, the price of the Wuling Alvez is even closer to Honda’s popular hatchback, the Brio RS. Honda Brio RS itself is offered in four variants and prices, namely Brio RS M/T costs IDR 223,100,000, Brio RS CVT IDR 233,100,000, Brio RS M/T Urbanite Edition IDR 233,900,000, and the most expensive Brio RS CVT Urbanite Edition IDR 243,900,000.
The most basic model from Alvez costs IDR 14,100,000 cheaper. It’s just that the highest version of Alvez, namely the EX CVT, is still Rp. 51,000,000 more expensive.
For information, Alvez means ‘All At Once’ in English which symbolizes a combination of stylish exterior design, modern interior, innovative driving technology in one SUV product.
Wuling Avez is equipped with a naturally aspirated, inline-4 cylinder, DVVT, DOHC petrol engine with a capacity of 1,485 cc which on paper can spit out power of 105 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 4,000-4,600 rpm. This machine already carries EURO 4 with CVT automatic transmission options and 6-speed manual.
