Sales of Wuling Air ev are starting to accelerate again. If in January and February the wholesale distribution was only dozens of units, now it has increased to hundreds.
Sales of Wuling Air ev on a wholesale basis in March 2023 saw an increase compared to the previous two months. Quoting wholesale distribution data released by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), closing the first quarter of 2023 Air Ev sales reached 421 units.
For the record, in January the distribution of Air Ev only reached 35 units. Continuing in February there was an increase to 83 units. Even though in December 2022 the distribution reached 2,132 units. At that time, Wuling Motors Indonesia reasoned that the decline in distribution in January and February was indeed according to Wuling’s plan.
Because there are many holidays and also the Chinese New Year. Until finally in March we started to see an increase, although it has not returned to the level of 2022. Meanwhile for the April 2023 period it seems that Air ev sales will increase again along with the provision of ‘subsidies’ from the government.
This ‘subsidy’ was given because Wuling Air ev has a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 40.04%. Thanks to the ‘subsidies’ in the form of VAT incentives (Value Added Tax) VAT, the price of Air ev has also been cut.
For your information, the Wuling Air ev Standard Range normally costs IDR 243 million. This means that with a discount of IDR 21 million, the selling price will be IDR 222 million. Meanwhile, the Wuling Air ev Long Range normally costs IDR 299.5 million. With the VAT incentive, the price for the Wuling Air ev, which can cover a distance of 300 km, costs IDR 273 million.
Wuling Motors Brand and Marketing Director Dian Asmahani revealed that Air Ev’s sales have started to increase significantly, especially after the VAT incentive assistance from the government came into force on April 1, 2023.
“April 1-13, almost 500 SPK (vehicle order letters) have been received,” explained Dian when confirmed recently.
