Wuling Air ev be successful electric car best-selling in Indonesia throughout 2022. This tiny dimension vehicle sold 8,053 units or almost five times more than the Hyundai IONIQ 5 in second place. What is the secret that makes Wuling Air ev so popular?
It is known, Wuling Air ev contributed 27 percent of Wuling’s total sales in Indonesia. The vehicle is the manufacturer’s second best-selling product after the Confero series. This achievement is certainly impressive for an electric car that is not even half a year old.
“Wuling Air ev sales have actually exceeded our expectations. We will try to continue to meet consumer demand,” said Brand & Marketing Director Wuling Motors Indonesia, Dian Asmahani when met in North Jakarta recently.

On this occasion, Dian also explained a number of secrets why Wuling Air ev can sell well in Indonesia. According to him, Wuling Air ev answers consumers’ wishes about cheap electric cars that can be charged at home. In addition, its tiny dimensions are suitable for use in urban areas.
“What is clear is that the concept for Air EV is that we are indeed a city car easy to use. Then if the design is small, it’s easy to use. Because this is an EV, in a new segment, even though it’s an EV, when people question the infrastructure, this car can be charged anywhere,” he said.

So far, electric cars are still stigmatized as expensive vehicles that make it a ‘hassle’. The presence of Wuling Air ev, according to Dian, seemed to tear down the stigma and bring a new standard.
“So if you look at when we first released the Air EV, it was a mobility solution for urban communities. So these are things that we consider to be a trend in our society, what kind of urban car do we need. And, thank God, this Air EV can answer that,” said Diana.
