The run-up to Christmas will be particularly atmospheric and always musical this year on the Bergische Diakonie grounds. On December 17th, 4 p.m., the Bergische Diakonie will host the pop choir cHore&more from Wuppertal-Katernberg. “We are pleased that the choir members take the time for an impressive and lively concert in our Diakoniekirche and at the same time support our Haus Birke on the Diakonie grounds with their concert.”

The event takes place as part of the Aprather Advent, a place for the common Advent season in and around the Diakoniekirche on the Wülfrather central campus. The Aprather Advent offers numerous Christmas events and an impressive light installation of the Aprather Wichernkranz, which accompanies us through the Advent season.

cHor&more, the pop choir at Katernberg, has been delighting audiences since spring 2012 with modern pop songs in sophisticated polyphonic arrangements in German and English. But the choir is versatile and doesn’t shy away from a challenge, be it in world music, canons, circle or loop songs, or rhythmically with body percussion. The choir, consisting of around 30 members, forms smaller ensembles for concerts and shows with passion, joy and energy how diverse and modern choral music can be today.

A special feature of the concert is also its purpose – to support the Christmas party for the residents of Haus Birke. Haus Birke is a special form of living for people with mental and/or addiction disorders, and the proceeds from the concert are used directly for an atmospheric and festive Christmas party.
