The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (23) three new confirmed cases of Wuhan pneumonia in China. One of the local cases was a family member living with Case 881 (Case 885), and the other two cases were imported from the United Kingdom and the United States. .
The command center stated that Case 885 is a 50-year-old woman of nationality who is one of the family members and main caregivers of Case 881. She was previously listed as a contact person of Case 852, and was interviewed on January 11 and January 17. The results were all negative, and the home quarantine was continued. Yesterday (22), the case was diagnosed with cases 881 and 882, and contacts were examined again, and confirmed today. The case has been asymptomatic so far. The health unit has initiated epidemic investigation and prevention measures.
In terms of overseas immigration, case 883 is a British male in his 10s. He was diagnosed locally on December 28 last year and self-quarantined for 10 days. He came to Taiwan on January 20 this year and had a negative test report within 3 days before the flight. After quarantine at the centralized quarantine station, he has no symptoms so far. The case was examined by the “UK Project” on January 21 this year and was diagnosed today; investigations of contacts on the same flight are under investigation.
Case 884 is an American female student in her 20s. She came to Taiwan on December 31 last year for language and cultural exchanges. She entered Taiwan on January 1 this year. She had a negative test report on December 24. She entered the country for epidemic prevention. The hotel is quarantined and has no symptoms so far. After the expiration of the home quarantine period, the case was inspected at its own expense on January 20, and the diagnosis was confirmed today. A total of 9 people have been in contact with the case, including 2 friends who are travelling together and are listed in home isolation; the remaining 7 people are properly protected and listed as independent health management.
According to the command center’s statistics, up to now, a total of 143,747 new coronavirus pneumonia-related notifications (including 140,780 cases excluded) have been reported in China, of which 884 cases were confirmed, 776 cases of overseas immigration, 69 local cases, 36 cases of Dunmu fleet, 2 cases of aircraft infection and One case is unknown; the other case (Case 530) was removed as a blank number. Among the confirmed cases, 7 people died, 783 people were released from isolation, and 94 people were hospitalized in isolation.
