In 1989, Wu Mengda (Da Ge) and Zhou Xingchi (Xing Ye) collaborated for the first time, filming the drama “He Comes from Jianghu”, playing two fathers and sons in the play. Because of the tacit understanding and funny, the performance of the two was well received, and they have become the best partners ever since. Da Ge and Xing Ye had the best relationship when they were in Qi. Da Ge was Qi Zai, and Xing Ye was Qi Ye.

However, this pair of best partners has not cooperated since “Shaolin Football” in 2000. Back then, it was rumored that Xing Ye and Da Ge were at odds, but both denied it. In 2004, Stephen Chow was preparing for the filming of “Kung Fu” and stated that he would presume that Dago would participate in the performance. Dago also stated that he would reserve a schedule, but Dago was not seen when the film was finally started. In recent years, Dago mentioned his relationship with Zhou Xingchi in interviews with mainland programs. He said at the time: “We didn’t have any bad friends, but we drifted away because of the different circles of friends. The friendship and tacit understanding of the past are gone. Maybe it’s because everyone’s identities and ideas are different, and it feels a bit old and dead!”
