WTG-Band Neustadt meats North-West-Jazzensemble | NR-Kurier.de

Exactly two years ago, the last Phoenix concert took place in the gymnasium of the Wiedtal-Gymnasium. After that it went into musical hibernation due to the epidemic.

new town Since October, the old and new members of the Phoenix Band have been meeting again in the music hall for well-ventilated rehearsals. “We revive “old pieces” and try out new ones. We can’t plan a “real” Phoenix concert yet.”

On Monday, March 7th, the North-West Jazz Ensemble will stop in Neustadt as part of their tour. The association makes it possible to invite the professional band. In the afternoon there will be a workshop with the phoenixes, and at 8 p.m. there will be a public concert in the high school’s event room. The Phoenix Band will open the concert with a few songs. After that, the North West Jazz Ensemble will play.

Current members of the Phoenix Band are: Alvis Buss, 8d and Lilli Kramer, 12 (trumpet), Andreas Meuser, 10a, Daniel Meuser, 11, Simon Paffhausen, 8d and Emma Sures, 10b (alto saxophone), Lennart Mecklenburg, 6b (E- violin), Lisa Becker, 11, Svenja Becker, 13, Alex Buss, 12, Finn Kittelmann, 11, Justin Kombeitz, 11 and Marten Mecklenburg, 8c (electric guitar), Sinje Burberg, 13 and Cedrik Leko, 10c (piano), Christian Rothe, 9b (electric bass), Jannik Lorscheid,12 and Manuel Lutsch, 12 (drums).

The North-West Jazz Ensemble brings together seven jazz musicians from Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia, all of whom have a unique musical background. The ensemble arose from the merger of the lecturers of the first jazz workshop in Lübeck. After the first musical collaboration in the summer of 2021, the musical spark jumped over in such a way that the band was unanimous: A common musical path is opening up here. Line-up: Martin Berner (trumpet), Leon Sladky (saxophone), Sophia Oster (vocals), Mattie Winnitzki (piano), Axel Fischbacher (guitar), Niklas Müller (double bass), Ole Seimetz (drums).

Air purification devices are available in the event room. 3G and masks are mandatory. Admission prices: adults 10 euros, schoolchildren 7 euros, family ticket (two adults and two children) 20 euros.
