Magda Linette, after beating Rebecca Peterson in the first round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, faced a very serious challenge. Wiktoria Azarenka stood in the way of the Polish tennis player, a player who has years of the best form behind her, but is still a very serious challenge.
The Polish woman certainly could not be considered the favorite of the match, and its possible result could show the fans what Linette can realistically do. The match started more than an hour late as the ladies were waiting for one of the men’s bracket games to end.

The second set started much better for Azarenka, who quickly took the lead 3-0. At this point, Linette decided to give up the match. The cause was an ankle injury at the end of the first set.
