In the first set, both tennis players had trouble winning games on their serves. There were frequent breaks and eventually a tie-break was needed. In it, from 2-2, Fręch scored five points in a row and won the first game.

She continued her good play in the second. She quickly took a 4-1 lead and later controlled events on the court. She didn’t let herself be broken and eventually used the fourth match ball. The meeting lasted two hours and 16 minutes.
She hasn’t played with Gauff Fręch before.
