KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk is targeting a commercial center contract in a Southeast Asian country. The project value is IDR 1 trillion.
Plt. Corporate Secretary Waskita Ratna Ningrum said the tender process that was running from the project was entering its final stage. He hopes the project announcement will continue as planned.
“The winner’s decision is still in accordance with the plan, which is still announced this year. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the owner may postpone the announcement of the winner. However, we certainly hope that it will continue according to plan,” he told Kontan.co.id, Saturday. (3/10).
This is because the company hopes that the contract can boost the acquisition of new contracts this year. Meanwhile, until the end of the year the issuer coded shares WSKT on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is targeting new contracts of Rp. 25 trillion to Rp. 26 trillion.
Unfortunately, Ratna has not been able to reveal the realization until the third quarter of 2020. In early September, WSKT recorded a new contract of Rp. 9.6 trillion.

This is part of the company’s portfolio diversification. “Currently WSKT is participating in several tender processes in several countries in Southeast Asia for infrastructure projects, connectivity and building projects,” he said.
Ratna said the company was optimistic that it could compete with other contractors. According to him, WSKT has advantages that can be utilized and utilized maximally to win the competition with his experience who has worked on mega projects, including toll roads, airports, ports and dams.
This refers to the various invitations to infrastructure seminars from various countries that the company has received. In addition, he mentioned that the company also has large and capable human resources as well as equipment resources located abroad that are ready to be used to work on big projects.
“Then the government’s support, in this case the Ministry of BUMN and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is very helpful and facilitates the WSKT business process abroad,” he explained.
Therefore, expansion abroad is one of the company’s focuses. “Going forward, Waskita will focus on market expansion to Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa,” he concluded.
