European leaders are considering supporting Ukraine without US involvement due to the recent election victory of Donald Trump. The Wall Street Journal reports this.

“European leaders have quietly begun discussions on how to help Ukraine confront Russia without Washington’s support.” Although they are trying to convince Trump not to cut aid to Kyiv,” writing WSJ.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, previously noted that the European Union has already established support mechanisms, including the Ukraine Fund of €50 billion for macro-financial assistance. However, she avoided the question of whether the EC will, in principle, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while Washington refused to do so.
