WSJ: Apple is working on a new data encryption system to protect iCloud

The American company Apple is working on a new and advanced end-to-end data encryption system for its devices, writes the newspaper. The Wall Street Journal. This system is called Advanced Data Protection and mainly aims to protect the data contained in iCloud storage.

According to the publication, the new protection system will allow data to be stored in iCloud even if the company’s servers are hacked. However, Apple will not have access to this data, so the information will not be available to third parties. In this case, encryption will not apply to email, contact list and calendar.

According to Wall Street Journal sources, the new protection system will be available to Apple users in the United States by the end of 2022. It is expected that users around the world will be able to use it in 2023.
