Mandalika –
Alvaro Bautista succeeded in becoming the fastest in race 1 of the Mandalika World Superbike (WSBK). He beat the defending champion Toprak Razgatlioglu.
The first Mandalika World Superbike (WSBK) race took place at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Saturday (4/3). Toprak Razgatlioglu the start frontrunner started the race very well.
He immediately shot to secure the first position. While bad luck experienced by Michael Rinaldi in the first lap. He had to end the race faster due to experience crash.
Toprak continues to be followed by Alvaro Bautista. The racer from Spain was then able to snatch the status of race leader from Toprak.
Bautista slowly began to get away from Toprak. Toprak’s team mate at Pata Yamaha Promoteon, Andrea Locatelli, took third place.
Bautista was able to maintain first place until the race ended. The position of Toprak and Locatelli also did not change.
Bautista finished fastest followed by Toprak in second and Locatelli in third.
The results of this race made Bautista even stronger at the top of the drivers’ standings. He previously swept the 2023 WSBK series opener in Australia with the fastest finish.
The Spanish rider collected 87 points. The WSBK Mandalika series will continue tomorrow, Sunday (4/3/2023). The second race will be held on that day.
