Wrong-way driver causes serious accident on A25

The taxi driver drove in the wrong direction on Tuesday night on the A 25 in Neuallermöhe. A jaguar could no longer avoid it.
Neuallermöhe. A wrong-way driver has in the night of Tuesday on the A 25 one in the eastbound direction bad accident caused. On two vehicles emerged more economical total loss in the amount of around 50,000 euros. The two drivers of the cars, two 63-year-old men, believed to have had a guardian angel and were only killed despite the severity of the impact slightly injured.
According to the police, the accident happened around 2.40 a.m. between the Allermöhe and Neuallermöhe junctions. There, a taxi driver who had no passengers in the car apparently drove his VW Touran in the wrong direction onto the autobahn and was now heading west/Hamburg City.

The 63-year-old realized his mistake and decided to turn around. But when the car was parked across the road, the Jaguar of another 63-year-old man approached. This could no longer avoid, so that the car slammed into the taxi. Both vehicles were also pushed against the crash barrier, which was also demolished.
The two drivers then complained of pain and were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. They were later able to leave after outpatient treatment. No breath alcohol was measured in the accident driver. However, since he stated that he was taking medication, a blood test was arranged.
The Autobahn 25 had to be closed between Allermöhe and Neuallermöhe-West for two hours – between three and five o’clock – for the clean-up work. According to the police, however, there were no traffic jams because of the night time.
