Writers’ School: I prescribe a book for you | Day by day

Books are good for the soul. Many readers even claim that they are effective remedies for many ailments.: boredom, discouragement, anxiety, heartbreak or fear. AND as we are not, as is evident, at our best, ‘Hoy por Hoy’ launches its ‘Librological Office’, in collaboration with the Writers School, that will be broadcast between 10 and 11 every Friday.

Every Friday a ‘writer-doctor’ will issue recipes in the form of readings to listeners who send an inquiry to www.escueladeescritores.com ANDEntering this page you will find instructions to record an audio in which they detail what their symptoms are, and what type of remedies they usually prefer: from adventure novels to brainy essays, prose or poetry, light or heavy, to take in one gulp or to dose in small sips.

The section opened on Friday, April 17 with the writer Manuel Vilas, who prescribed very diverse readings, from the luminous poetry of Walt Whitman, to the storybook ‘Empty Pools’, debut by Laura Ferrero. From treatments fresh from top laboratories, to pure classic aspirin. In the next few weeks authors such as Bernardo Atxaga, Santiago Posteguillo, Javier Cercas, Ana Merino, Olga Merino or José Ovejero.
