Thiruvananthapuram – Writer, screenwriter and actor B. Harikumar has passed away. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 am at Shantikavadam.
Grandson of actor Adoor Bhasi, known as the king of Malayalam comedy, CV Harikumar is also the grandson of Raman Pillai. Harikumar, originally from Thiruvananthapuram, was a bank officer. Two books have been written about Adoor Bhasi, Adoor Bhasi Phalithamal and Lord of Laughter.
He has written and published 14 novels and more than 100 short stories. Major works are Thaavalam, Daylight, Maricham, Chakravarthini, Diana, Karuta Surya, Gandharva Para, Kanmani, Aparajita, Vatamallika, Kamini, Mothima, Apaharam, Ratham (novels) and Agnimeele Purohitham (collection of stories).
He has written stories and screenplays for many television series and telefilms. He also wrote the screenplay for the film Sanyasini.
The wife is Srirekha and the son is Hemant.
