According to the website of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), R. Keturakis graduated from Garliava Secondary School, and from Vilnius University with a degree in Lithuanian language and literature. He worked in the editorial offices of the magazines Nemunas, Santara and other publications, and was the editor of the newspaper Kauno žinios.
The poet has published several collections of poems, including the “Forever Temporarily” awarded in the Spring of Poetry in 1988, as well as collections of essays, essays, the poem “Name of the Earth”, “Seven Swords”, “Jotvingiai”, and the historical heritage yearbook “Terra Jatwezenorum”. (“Jotvingiai Region”) Volumes I and II.
The writer’s works have been translated into Latvian, Estonian, Georgian, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Armenian, Hungarian and Kyrgyz.
VMU points out that R. Keturakis in 2003. awarded the Kaunas City Mayor’s Award for good works for the benefit of society – “Brick of Kindness”, in 2005 he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order “For Merits to Lithuania”. 2006 he was awarded the 2nd degree Santaka badge of honor for his merits to Kaunas and the Jonas Aistis Literary Prize for the poetry books Three Lilies for St. Casimir (2004) and Never Late (2005). 2012 The Lithuanian Government Culture and Art Prize was awarded to the poet for his merits in Lithuanian culture and art.
