After the protest of the junior wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, the ad hoc committee assured. The ad hoc committee of the Wrestling Federation of India has assured that the athletes will continue training and the national competitions will be held in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh soon.
The junior wrestlers who protested at Jantarmantar demanded that the national competitions, which were halted due to the controversies of the Wrestling Federation of India, be organized immediately. The ad-hoc committee constituted for the interim management of the federation took the demand of the junior players seriously and gave an assurance in this regard.
The committee informed that the national championships which were to be held in under 15 and under 20 categories will be organized within six weeks. The committee also assured to resolve the concerns of the players. The senior national championship will also be organized in the coming February. The committee also advised the junior players to engage in training to participate in the national championships. The ad hoc committee’s move comes amid a challenge by the suspended governing body to organize the championships on its own.
