“Wrestler Vinesh Phogat Accuses Union Sports Minister of Suppressing Sexual Harassment Charges by WFI Chief”

India’s top wrestler, Vinesh Phogat, has spoken out against Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur for suppressing allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Along with other top wrestlers, Phogat has been protesting at Jantar Mantar for the past six days, demanding Singh’s arrest and justice for the female athletes affected. Despite meeting with an official prior to their protest, no action was taken, and Thakur formed a committee to suppress the matter. The wrestlers refute allegations that their protest is related to Olympic selection rules, stressing that it is purely for justice. Delhi Police recently registered two FIRs against Singh for sexual harassment and exploitation of female wrestlers.
