Wrecked sheds, fallen trees and a truck overturned by a strong storm in Realicó

Realicó suffered a severe windstorm on Thursday that left destroyed sheds, fallen trees, electrical problems, drums scattered along the road and even an overturned truck.

According to police sources consulted by LA ARENA, the storm occurred minutes after 5 p.m.

“Hurricane-force winds of great power began to pick up,” the spokesmen described.

At that moment, the wind began to destroy everything in its path: a situation similar to the one that occurred a week ago in Santa Rosa.

DEPOSITS.

Police reported that the wind, followed by rain, blew parts of two warehouses of a well-known lubricant sales company, located on National Route 35 about 1,000 meters south of the roundabout.

«The strong gusts literally ripped off the west face of both sheds, detaching the sheets that flew over the route, crossing several meters high, cutting all the cables of the high voltage line, which were laid on the asphalt tape, while the plates were left hanging in trees on the other side of the road, and others that could pass fell in neighboring fifths, “said the INFOTEC site.

DUMP TRUCK.

But that was not all.

The Police explained that a large number of honey drums, from a local company, were scattered along the road about 100 meters from the place.

Another of the affected sectors was the Municipal Recreational Park where tree and branch falls were reported.

For this reason, the municipality reported that entry was prohibited until the damage was repaired and everything was settled.

One of the most striking episodes left by the storm occurred in a farm, dedicated to pig production, in the extreme north of the town, where the wind caused a truck, brand Mercedes Benz 1114 with trailer, to overturn.

The police sources reassured that there were no injuries as a result of the storm, however, several sectors of the town were without electricity for at least two hours until the service was re-established by the workers of the local cooperative.
