Solopos.com, WONOGIRI — Vaccines that are included in the government’s routine childhood immunization program in Wonogiri nowadays it’s getting harder and harder to get. In fact, the Wonogiri Regency Government has not received a supply of several types of vaccines since March 2021.

“Several residents have complained about the shortage of baby vaccines through the complaints channels of the Wonogiri Regency Government,” said the Head of the Wonogiri District Health Office (DKK), Adhi Dharma, accompanied by the Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Mardiyanto, in his office, Thursday (29/7/2021). ).

According to him, many residents are disappointed when they are going to immunize their children. DKK has reported the absence of routine immunization vaccines for the baby to the Wonogiri Regent. Vaccines for programs immunization mandatory for the baby has long been empty.

“Pentabio vaccine [DPT HB HiB] dan Measless Rubella [MR] has not been supplied since March 2021. While the Inactivated Polio Vaccine [IPV] It has not been supplied since May 2021,” he said.

The vaccines for childhood immunization that are still available in Wonogiri Regency are Hepatitis B (HB 0), BCG, and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) vaccines. Adhi did not know the reason for the lack of supply of some of the vaccines.

Regions Can’t Hold Alone

All government immunization program vaccines are borne by the central government through the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). Local governments cannot conduct themselves or independently.

“The government’s vaccine program for babies is produced by Biofarma. Meanwhile, the distribution by the Ministry of Health through the Provincial Health Office is then given to the DKK,” he said.

Health centers and hospitals receive government program vaccines from DKK. Some health centers or hospitals may still have the remaining vaccine stock a few months ago. However, their numbers are dwindling.

“Vaccination for babies will someday be available. While waiting, we hope that people will be careful in anticipating. For example, those who have not been vaccinated with BCG, be careful not to go near people with TB just yet,” said Adhi.
