The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is easily contagious, but the symptoms tend to be milder than other variants. Experts see that there seem to be some unique Omicron symptoms that can appear at certain moments.
One of these symptoms is diarrhea during defecation (BAB). Johns Hopkins Medicine shows that about 20 percent of COVID-19 patients are likely to experience diarrhea as an early symptom after exposure to Omicron.
Suspicion of COVID-19 infection can also be greater if diarrhea is accompanied by other flu-like symptoms.
Dr. Robert ‘Bob’ Wachter from San Francisco, United States, recounted the experience of his son infected with omicron experiencing flu-like symptoms when he woke up. Symptoms include sore throat, dry cough, muscle aches, and chills.
“My son should (after the booster vaccine) be fine, but instead he feels anxious feelings due to being infected with the Omicron variant,” said Dr Wachter via his Twitter account.
Earlier this month, the most common signs of Omicron symptoms came to light after patients recorded a series of complaints in the ZOE Covid Study. The top five symptoms are:
- Have a cold
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Sneeze
- Sore throat
The other symptoms of COVID-19 that Omicron patients complain the most are:
- Hoarseness
- Shivering
- Difficult to focus
- Dizzy
- Loss of appetite
