According to the manager of the Madiun Regency KPAD Program and Finance Lenny Dwi Ambarsari, the number of people living with HIV AIDS (PLWHA) in Madiun is increasing from year to year.
In fact, it is like the iceberg phenomenon, where only the outer part of the case is revealed, while many of the facts of the case have not been revealed.
Lenny assesses that awareness is needed from sufferers to detect cases of HIV AIDS.
A total of 957 HIV AIDS cases were recorded in Madiun Regency from 2002 to November 2021.
In those 20 years, 321 PLWHA died, the majority of the sufferers were private workers.
Lenny explained that the factors causing HIV/AIDS transmission in Madiun Regency were dominated by free adult relationships.
