The results explained that about 16 percent of research subjects proved the presence of the SARS-CoV2 virus that causes Covid-19 in their sperm. This research is published by JAMA Network Open Journal.
“We found the fact that the SARS-CoV2 virus could enter the sperm of both Covid-19 patients and recovered patients,” said the researcher.
The presence of the corona virus in sperm, said the researchers, may be the result of systemic local inflammation. Some think that the virus in the sperm is caused by the special immunity of the testes in the male reproductive system.

Meanwhile, Allan Pacey, Professor of Andrology at the University of Sheffield explained, the study should not be drawn into absolute conclusions, because there are some technical difficulties in testing sperm for the virus.
However, he did not deny that male sperm can indeed contain viral diseases. This can be seen in the case of Ebola. The virus that causes Ebola has been proven to be in a man’s sperm even if he has recovered from the disease.
