Nicole explains that she made eighteen early detections of possible asteroids.
Although initial observations still have to be certified, a process that can sometimes take years.
However, one strong detection, Nicole will be the one youngest from world who discovered asteroids.
This would break the record of Luigi Sannino, who discovered an eighteen-year-old asteroid now named 12575 Palmariaat in 1999.
If his direction holds up for further research, he hopes to name the asteroid after the famous Brazilian scientist and members of his family.
Nicole was recently part of the asteroid hunter, a project run by the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) and the Brazilian ministry of science designed to get people interested in astronomy.
