Vaccinate all at-risk patients by Whit Monday, that was the goal of the Flemish government. The counter currently stands at about 55 percent. The chance that the deadline will be met is therefore small. But Minister Wouter Beke makes a case: “By the end of next week, 95 percent will have been vaccinated.”

Currently only 55 percent of the high-risk patients have been vaccinated. In some vaccination centers things are going smoothly, including in Ghent, it is assumed that all at-risk patients have had their injection on Monday. But in regions such as Diest and Aarschot it is more difficult. There they speak of an older population and thus more risk patients in percentage terms.
Flemish Minister for Welfare, Wouter Beke (CD&V), however, is convinced that things are going fast. “We have always said ‘the week of Pentecost’, which is next week. And I still assume that by the end of next week as many as 95 percent of the high-risk patients will have been vaccinated. ” Beke does admit that the new advice for pregnant women has resulted in additional risk patients. “In addition, some choose to postpone their vaccine for one reason or another.”
Beke also points out that high-risk patients who are still waiting for an invitation and are not sure whether they are on the list, can check this themselves via ‘my health viewer’.
