Wout Weghorst has been in Turkish this season Beşiktaş on loan from Burnley, following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Now the Dutchman is back in the Premier League. He is presented by Manchester United, and joins on loan for the rest of the season.
– I feel privileged to join Manchester United. I have played against the club before and it is a great feeling to now get the chance to pull on the famous red shirt. I have seen United’s progress under Erik ten Hag this season and am looking forward to playing, he says on the club’s website.
– Whatever happens in the next few months, I can promise that I will give everything for the club as long as I am here, he continues.
According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is no purchase option, for United, in the agreement. At the same time, United are said to pay 2.5 million pounds (about 30 million kroner) to Beşiktaş because the Turkish club’s loan of the player ended.
The signing will be Manchester United’s second of the winter window. Previously, the club has signed goalkeeper Jack Butland.
