Wout van Aert was first unleashed in the time trial over 30.8 kilometers from Libourne to Saint-Émilion. He flew over the course at an average speed of 51.5 kilometers per hour, to crown his Tour party on the Champs Elysées in Paris a day later with the most wanted sprint victory in the cycling profession. With three stage wins, he is one of the big stars of this Tour and he gave a big wink to Tokyo.
