Vandendriessche assumes first and foremost that the Urban Cross will continue as usual. “The race is organized very professionally by Golazo. The course can be closed off perfectly and therefore safely organized without an audience.”
“Supporters need to relax and can follow the match live on Sporza.”
The presence of Van Aert gives extra color to this second edition: “It is simply great that Wout van Aert starts with us, thanks to the sponsors and organizer. He is the public favorite and will attract a lot of people.”
“Last year’s sponsors also stayed on board and I would like to thank them enormously. That is not easy in these times.”
Last year Mathieu van der Poel won the first edition of the CAPS Urban Cross in Kortrijk, ahead of Tim Merlier and Toon Aerts.
More about Van Aert’s cyclocross calendar is not known. We know that Van Aert’s rival Van der Poel will race in December and January. He has already announced 6 crosses, including the first one on December 12 in Antwerp.
