The transfer market is dictating the headlines in the Bundesliga these days. One of the hottest irons is Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, who will probably leave FC St. Pauli for the leap into the upper house. According to media reports, SC Freiburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfB Stuttgart, among others, have hopes. Ivan Klasnic thinks Werder Bremen is the best choice.
“He has to pay attention to which club he really has the opportunity to play in. I think he would rather come to Werder than Freiburg and Gladbach. That’s why I would advise him to switch to Bremen,” said the ex- pro vs Bild newspaper. According to the tabloid, those responsible for the Hanseatic League are willing to go to the limits of their own budget for Kyereh. In any case, a seven-figure fee will be required to land the Ghana international.
“Player who can decide a game”
Such an investment is no small matter, but Klasnic is convinced that it would be worthwhile. “He’s a player who can decide a game. He also has good speed and can attract a game with it. He’s on the right track to becoming a good Bundesliga player,” said the Croatian. Kyereh had 22 goals in 29 second division games for St. Pauli last season.
“If he performs like the old 17, everything is fine”
The 26-year-old would add a powerful option to Werder’s attack and could play with the forward duo of Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug. Klasnic knows from his own experience that the move from St. Pauli to Bremen can be profitable. “If he moves from St. Pauli to Werder, he has done everything right. If he also gets my number 17 and performs like the old 17, everything is fine,” said the 42-year-old. Klasnic left the Kiezkicker for the Green-Whites in 2001, became a key player on the way to the double in 2004 and played several times in the Champions League with Werder.
