Worsening COVID Situation: France Changes Entry Rules

France has expanded the “red” list of countries

In France, for the third day in a row, more than 10 thousand new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded.

In France, the number of cases of coronavirus is growing. Due to the outbreak, the authorities decided to change the rules for entering the country. Now, unvaccinated travelers from several countries must submit a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 24 hours, writes BBC.

The rules have been tightened for travelers from the UK, Cyprus, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.

Previously, the test requirement was 48 hours for the UK and 72 hours for international visitors.

Fully immunized citizens may not adhere to this rule.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has added France to its “orange” list and requires travelers from that country to comply with a 10-day quarantine, even if a person is fully vaccinated. The move drew great dissatisfaction and criticism in France.

In turn, France has expanded the “red” list of countries with a high risk of COVID. Now it has 28 countries. Tourists from these countries can only come to France if their travel is “critically needed”.

Note that more than 10 thousand new cases of coronavirus were registered in France for the third day in a row.

But in Britain amid COVID outbreak, quarantine is canceled… Nightclubs can again operate in the country, other establishments were allowed to operate without restrictions. Mandatory mask wearing, social distancing, and work from home were also abolished.

Let’s add, in Ukraine less than 200 cases of COVID per day… Most of all new cases were detected in Kiev, Odessa, Zhitomir, Kiev and Kharkov regions.
