NEW YORK – New York City police made a gruesome discovery over the weekend after a woman reported worms falling from the ceiling of her apartment.
Officers were called to the building on Creston Avenue in the Fordham section of the Bronx on Saturday. That’s where they found two badly decomposed bodies of a 40-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman in the apartment above Luz Beriguete.
“When I woke up I found the room full of worms. I called the supermarket and told him what was happening,” Beriguete told Telemundo 47.
His supermarket simply thought his upstairs neighbors had forgotten to take out the trash, but Beriguete recalled hearing gunshots two weeks ago, so he called the police.
Police sources told our sister station that investigators are looking into the possibility that the man and woman died by murder-suicide, although the investigation is ongoing.
The woman’s death was declared a homicide on Tuesday, although the cause of death has not been revealed. She was identified as Ashley Ducille, 29, who lived in the apartment where her body was found.
The man’s manner of death has not been reported and has not been identified.
